A Pagan Myth for the present day

Joy is very excited to be directing and choreographing the Musical Theatre New Work, Erlking, with book, music, and lyrics by Christopher Scott at the Berklee College of Music this Spring. Alongside the amazing Michael Harris as Music Director, the piece will perform for one night only on April 20th at Cafe 939 in Boston, MA.

There are many exciting things about this particular project for Joy. Firstly, Christopher and Joy have worked together on several occasions as fellow performers, and she is thus incredibly excited to be working with him in this creative capacity for the first time. Second, this piece is so beautiful timely as though it draws from a myth from long ago, its contemporary, satirical sensibility send a pointed message about society and its accountability to its youth. Joy simply cannot wait to get started with the cast of students.

In the meantime, take a look at some of the concept and dramaturgy work below. It is going to be a pagan extravaganza.
