Joy is ecstatic to be playing Mrs. Lovett in Moonbox Productions’ Sweeney Todd, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Performing in the up-and-coming Arrow Street Arts, halfway through its completion, this will be a Brechtian take on the classic tale directed by Ryan Mardesich, and Music Directed by Dan Ryan.

A Brechtian take on a Sondheim classic. After being wrongfully imprisoned by the corrupt justice system, Sweeney Todd returns home to London to seek his revenge and save his daughter, Johanna. Aided by his meat-pie baking neighbor Mrs. Lovett, Sweeney comes to a much darker conclusion – we all deserve to die. Witness Moonbox’s new take on the modern myth, the parable of power, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
